Sustainable Stand Construction: Our Approach

Sustainability in exhibition stands

Sustainability plays an increasingly vital role in the event industry. Yet exhibition stand construction is still often viewed as a sector where high volumes of materials are used for a relatively short timeframe. This raises an obvious question: can exhibition stand building actually be sustainable?

The short answer: yes, provided you design, build, and reuse intentionally.

At Designmine, we believe a trade show stand shouldn't just make an impact on visitors—it should also have the smallest possible impact on the environment. Here is how we put that philosophy into practice

Sustainable Stand Building in Practice

1. Circular exhibition stands

Sustainability starts at the design stage. That’s why we create stands engineered for reuse. Many of our stands feature modular designs, allowing components to be easily modified, expanded, or repurposed for future events. This extends material lifespans and minimizes waste.

2. Sustainable materials

The materials you select largely define a stand's environmental footprint. That’s why we use high-quality materials built to last and be reused. For instance, we use durable plywood and exclusively apply water-based paints to ensure better air quality.

3. Rental and repair

Not everything needs to be manufactured from scratch. We offer versatile rental options for furniture, audiovisual equipment, and technical infrastructure. Additionally, we repair and maintain existing components to maximize their lifespan for future projects.

4. Energy-efficient production

We make conscious choices behind the scenes, too. Our facility is powered by over 1,200 solar panels on the roof of our production site. Within the stands themselves, we use energy-efficient LED lighting to minimize energy consumption during events.

5. Efficient logistics

Transportation is a major factor in sustainable stand construction. We plan our logistics meticulously, partnering with local suppliers wherever possible and keeping transport movements to a minimum. Fewer trips mean lower carbon emissions.

6. Waste separation and recycling

Through a strict waste management system, we recycle a significant portion of remaining materials. Wood, plastic, aluminum, and textiles are processed separately to give them a second life whenever possible, keeping valuable raw materials in circulation longer.

7. Sustainable workforce practices

For us, sustainability isn't just about materials and energy—our team is equally essential. We invest in safe workplaces, ergonomic tools, modern lifting systems, and a healthy working environment. We’re not just building sustainable stands; we’re building a sustainable organization.

Our Ambition: Driving Toward Sustainable Stand Building

The event industry is evolving rapidly. We believe the future lies in circular stand construction, maximum reusability, and smart manufacturing processes. That is why we continuously invest in innovative materials, optimized logistics, and new solutions to drive down our environmental impact even further.

Sustainable Exhibition Stands Without Compromise

A sustainable trade show stand never has to compromise on creativity, appearance, or quality. By making conscious choices in design, materials, and production, it is entirely possible to create a stand that makes a bold impression on the show floor while keeping its footprint to a minimum.
